Slides Before PowerPoint

Paula Tesch has a great find of slides from the 50s that she shares on the Duarte blog. Thought I would share a find of mine that takes us back further into time.

I went to Nezu Museum in Tokyo and came across a Urushi-e ("lacquer  picture") exhibition. The museum is beautifully designed and the exhibition was tremendous. Being a deck junkie, one specific exhibit stood out - the painting album (pictured below). When I saw it I immediately thought "slides from a prior world". (Click on the imagine to expand in lightbox).

There were many paintings and albums, but this particularly had a parallel to the PowerPoint world we live in - "landscape, horizontal". Below is a snap from another urush-e painting.
